The talk focused on PCB fundamentals, why they are important, and how to use tools like KiCAD to turn schematics into PCBs. Talk ended with a follow along demo for the students where they designed their own schematic and PCB using KiCAD. Demonstrated addition capabilities of open source software, including auto-routing toolchains.
